Overview

Get the plugin version of Ampeg’s V-4B bass amp head

Experience the iconic sound of Ampeg's V-4B bass amp head in a plugin format. This digital recreation captures the original's classic warmth and dynamic range, offering the same distinctive "grind" and rich tonal texture. Ideal for studio production and live performance, this plugin brings the sound of the legendary V-4B to your digital audio workstation.

Achieve a richer and more textured sound than the Ampeg SVT

During a time when P.A. systems were often inadequate, Ampeg's 300-watt SVT amp head stood out for its ability to deliver powerful low-end in large arenas. While the 100-watt Ampeg V-4B provided less wattage than its bigger brother, it had a unique appeal. The V-4B's power amp, easier to drive into breakup than the SVT offered a richer, more textured tone. This made it the preferred choice of many renowned bass players familiar with both models.

Use a built-in three-band EQ to create thick tube tones

The V4-B has a simple EQ section that effortlessly delivers thick tube tones from the moment you plug in. Featuring a three-band EQ with switchable mids and ultra-low and high switches, it allows you to quickly dial in a vast range of tones, from boomy and beefy to honky and gritty. With separate gain and master controls, plus a Power Soak option, it offers all the character expected from Ampeg.

Unlock the power of a Brainworx FX rack

Officially endorsed by Ampeg, V-4B is a bass amp sim that accurately emulates the original Ampeg V-4B. It features a built-in Brainworx FX rack with meticulously modeled 4x10 and 8x10 cabinets, a noise gate, filter control, and a horn on/off function for the cabinets. All from 65 recording chains that feature well-engineered combinations of classic microphones and boutique outboard gear, run through a Neve VXS72 console.
